· Do
you deliver and set up the wedding cake?
Yes, we always set up our
own cakes as it’s not something you should have to worry about on your
wedding day. Delivery and set up is free in the Salem area.
· Do
you deliver outside of Salem? What is the charge?
We deliver outside of Salem
for a fee, which is $1.50 per mile, one-way.
· I
want fresh flowers on my cake, do you provide and arrange them, or
should my florist?
Usually it works better to
have your florist provide and place the cake flowers. This
ensures the flowers on your cake match the rest of the reception
flowers. Your florist will also know which flowers will work
best on a cake and if they need any special care.
· Do
you have any cake stands or pedestals I can use for my cake?
Yes, most of our stands cost
$20 to rent for the day. Please contact us to view our selection.
· How
far in advance is the cake baked and assembled?
In most cases, your cake
will be baked and put together the day prior to your wedding. This
gives it time to set overnight and be ready for delivery the next
day. Your cake will never be frozen, everything we bake is to order.
· I
want to book Bittersweet Baking for my cake, what do I need to do to
secure my date?
A 50% deposit of the
estimated total is required to book your cake. The balance is due 2
weeks prior to your wedding. Different payment plans are available as
needed. Please contact us to discuss our options.
· I
want a really beautiful cake, but I’m working with a very tight
budget. What are my options?
Most people have a budget
when it comes to a wedding, but it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have a
really great cake. There are so many options out there, such as
having a smaller wedding cake and serving sheet cakes on the side.
Let us know your budget and we’ll work with you to accommodate it.
· I
don’t want the traditional wedding cake, what other choices do I have?
There are so many options
out there for wedding desserts other than cakes. Here are a few:

dessert buffets

serving a signature dessert like tiramisu or fresh fruit tarts
·
chocolate bar
or buffet, with all your favorite dark, milk and white chocolate
sweets

cupcake towers

chocolate
fountains with everything from fresh fruit to homemade marshmallows to
